ABOUT TOENAIL FUNGUS
Toenail fungus, or onychomycosis, is an infection of the toenails. Fungus will cause changes in the nail. Nails may become thick, discolored, or loose. Toenail fungus is very common, and can be caused by a toenail injury, tight shoes, sweaty feet/shoes, increasing age, and genetic susceptibility.
ABOUT LASER TREATMENT
Dr. Tina’s Laser Nail Center of Iowa provides laser treatment for fungal toenails. The laser light/energy passes through the toenail to kill the fungus that lives in and under the toenail. The laser produces a heating sensation without the need for anesthesia or injections. After laser treatment, no recovery period or downtime from activity is needed, and nail polish can be applied immediately.
